Focus of the story: Brief synopsis of your struggle
I underestimated the potential of a regional campus.
Describe your learning story and how you developed, grew or and overcame the problem.
When I was a senior in high school, I had no idea where I wanted to go to college. It was such a big decision, with life-changing potential! I wanted to know all my options, so I ended up applying to over 50 universities. In order to decide which one was the best fit for my needs, I created a massive spreadsheet comparing the costs and benefits of each university. After all my research I found that IU Southeast was the best value for both my money and my education.
This process taught me that my choices and attitude decide my future; I am in control. After enrolling in IU Southeast, I knew it was up to me to make the most of my college experience. I got involved in campus life, participating in campus activities, and joining numerous clubs. I also took advantage of several study abroad programs offered by IU. Through these activities, I formed strong relationships across the campus community. These relationships not only helped me to feel connected with my fellow students, but to be successful in my college career.
Describe the impact that this experience had on you.
The IU community is special; not only do they want you to succeed, but they also provide you with all the tools you will need to do so. This is why I decided to return to IU Southeast to pursue my MBA. I feel incredibly lucky for the privilege to continue my education, and to learn from the amazing professors of IU Southeast. They are experts in their fields and inspire passion for their subjects. I feel grateful to sit in class and never take the opportunity to learn at IU for granted.
